Cultural heritage sightseeing tour in Kathmandu gives an insider exploration of history, culture, architecture and spirituality. As the tour advances ahead, it goes for an amazing Himalayan River rafting fun. The level 3+ river rapids bring some exciting moments of rafting in the Himalayan water. In addition to the sightseeing and rafting, the tour includes 3 days of gentle trekking adventure in the foothills of Annapurna with magnificent views of the gigantic Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range. Eventually a wonderful jungle safari tour at Chitwan National Park adds to all the flavor of the trip.

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival – 1400 m

Once you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will see Mountain Delights’ representative waiting for you just outside the arrival deck. You will see either our company signboard or a placard with your name printed on it. You will be taken to the trip hotel where you check in and relax for some time. Later we will take you for a short tour of Thamel, the main tourist hub in Kathmandu, to show you some good restaurants, ATMs, money changer and other necessary places you might need to go. We go back to hotel after the tour and talk about the trip in details. If your arrival is late today, we will do this tour and trip briefing tomorrow before we start for the tour.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

We will take you for a historical and heritage tour of Kathmandu valley today after breakfast. A full day sightseeing today in Kathmandu takes you to the amazing heritage sites of

Boudhanathis considered as the biggest Buddhist Stupa in the world which lies in the middle of a beautiful square. The giant Buddhist shrine is a very important pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhist people. The stupa is considered to have been built in 4th/5th centuries and carries some interesting stories behind its establishment. A stupa is basically a relic monument considered as a sacred shrine in Buddhism but there are several other types of stupas other than relic stupas. A stupa symbolizes the journey of a human being from material world to the world of enlightenment.

Pashupatinathis a Hindu Temple area where you can see a very unique cremation culture for the Hindu dead people. The temple which is considered as the most important Shiva temple in Nepal is open for Hindus only thus non-Hindu people have to stay outside the temple premises observing the Hindu death rites and rituals. We can encounter some Sadhus, the holy men, around who look so fascinating for photographs. The place is a rich spiritual and cultural source to have an insight on Nepali life and rituals.

Kathmandu Durbar Squareis famous for its unique historical, cultural and religious traditions. The most unique experience in the square is the visit to the temple of living goddess “Kumari”. Durbar square walking tour will be a perfect mixture of culture, history, art, architecture and traditional values prevalent in Kathmandu valley.

Day 03: Kathmandu – Rafting – Pokhara – 900 m

We leave Kathmandu after breakfast for our rafting journey on the River Trishuli. We drive out of Kathmandu valley and on the mountain highway with beautiful, scenic views of the mountains and middle hills. After driving for about 2 hours, we reach the rafting point where we get ourselves ready with the instruction of the rafting guide before getting into the river for water fun. More or less next 3 hours will be on the river where we play with and enjoy the river rapids. After the rafting trip comes to end, we take our lunch before driving to Pokhara.

When we reach Pokhara after about 2.5 hours of drive, we will be warmly welcomed by fresh air, close up view of Annapurna range, beautiful lakeside and peaceful environment. We will be instantly overwhelmed by the charisma of this beautiful town. We will have some time to wander around lake side in the evening.

Day 04: Pokhara – Australian Camp 2000m

We take our breakfast early in the morning and then check out the hotel. We drive about half hour to Phedi and start the trekking journey. The first section of the trek leads us on a steep uphill walk on paved stone steps and then through village to Dhampus. We take a break at Dhampus to enjoy the magical views of the Himalayas. We walk further to Australian camp for the overnight stay.

Day 05: Australian Camp – Naudanda 1600m

Our trekking days are comparatively shorter to what it is for Himalayan trekking. We walk about 4 hours in average yet enjoy magnificent Himalayan views. We are walking to Naudanda today. After enjoying our breakfast with view at Australian camp, we walk towards Naudanda. The first section leads us downhill through some forested part and then gradual up to Naudanda. Once we reach Naudanda, we can enjoy another astounding view of the mountain peaks in the Annapurna range. Stay overnight at Naudanda.

Day 06: Naudanda – Sarangkot1600m – Pokhara

Another beautiful morning and breakfast with view in Naudanda prepares us for the lovely day. The trek today goes mostly through villages with occasional views of the Himalayan range but there is a different charm of walking on this stretch. We can experience a rich rural culture while we can have a view of wide valley with middle hills in the horizon. We will still have the views of the Himalayas though.

Once we reach Sarangkot after about 4 hours of trek, we stop there for our lunch. We enjoy our meal with some impressive views of the Annapurna range. We drive back down to Pokhara after lunch.

Day 07: Pokhara Exploration Day

We take full day exploration of activities in Pokhara. We will visit Lake Fewa for a peaceful boating trip. We go to visit Davis falls, Gupteshwor cave and Mountain museum. We will have a free half day on our own. We can choose to go for some thrilling adventures like paragliding, zip flying or bungee jumping. Or we can simply take some relaxing time at leisure.

Day 08: Pokhara – Chitwan 500m

We drive for 5 hours to Chitwan today for Jungle safari activities.We leave Pokhara after breakfast and reach Chitwan for lunch. We will have some briefing moments about the activity schedule. Then, we proceed for the activities. We will go for ethnic Tharu cultural show in the evening.

Day 09: Jungle Safari Activities Day

We will spend a full day in Chitwan exploring the wild life and local culture. We go for elephant ride, canoe ride, jungle walk, and bird watching where we will look for the wildlife like one-horned rhino, deer, bear, crocodile, leopard, and different species of birds and most probably a Bengal tiger. We also visit elephant breeding center and see baby elephants.

Day 10: Chitwan – Kathmandu

We drive back to Kathmandu today. About 5 hours of overland journey takes us back to Kathmandu.Another 5 hours on the highway will give us time to observe the villages and towns on the way from a different angle. After reaching Kathmandu and checking into hotel, we will have some free time to wander around the streets of Thamel.

Day 11: Departure Day

We will drive you to airport for the departure flight three prior to your flight schedule.
