Annapurna Circuit Trekking is a classic trekking in the Annapurna region that belong to the world class ranking. It takes you to the high Himalayan pass named as the Thorung La of 5416 metres. It links the sub-tropical landscape of the Manang region and the dry landscape beyond the Annapurna massifs in the Mustang region. Walking through the world's deepest Kali Gandaki gorge is another feature of this trek along with visiting the holy site- Muktinath.
Beginning the round Annapurna trek from Chamje, you trek around the picturesque landscape of the Manang and Mustang region. The trek goes along the Marshyangdi valley and sub- tropical forests, exploring the Tibetan Buddhist culture, language, religion and daily practices. The Himalayan sceneries of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Lamjung Himal, Manaslu, Hiunchuli and Tilicho peak bestow its glorious perfection in the western region of Nepal, in the Annapurna Conservation Area. Muktinath temple, located beyond the Annapurna Himalayan chain, is a holy destination for Hindu and Buddhist devotees. Making a pilgrimage tour to Muktinath, the devotees believe to be free from the sins of their lifetime. Combining the Kagbeni, which is similar to the Upper Mustang, you trek down to the Jomsom valley, trek further through the Kali Gandaki gorge and join the lower Annapurna trekking route via Poon Hill. You have also the option to fly from Jomsom to Pokhara.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m).
Welcome to Nepal. Representative of Mountain Delights Treks and Expedition receives you at the Tribhuvan international airport, Kathmandu. Then you transfer to the hotel. After a short rest, we take you to the Thamel tour (about 30 minutes) to show you the shopping centre, bank and ATM, restaurants and money changers. Then, in the hotel a brief introduction about the upcoming itinerary is given. If you have a late flight, we do it on the following day. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing.
Pashupatinath Temple:It is a Hindu temple devoted to Lord Shiva, located beside the Bagmati River. It is one of the most significant temples for the Hindu devotes around the world and the UNESCO site. The golden pagoda style temple is richly carved with silver doors. On the day of Shivaratri, a big fair is held around the month of February/March.
Boudhanath Stupa:One of the biggest Stupas in the world is located on the east in Kathmandu. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four prime direction, keeping watch for virtuous behavior and human success. King Man Deva at the advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini had built this remarkable Stupa. The Stupa resembles the Mahayana philosophy.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Chamje. 7-8 hrs
After breakfast, we drive to Chamje, which is the starting point of the Round Annapurna Trekking. Before, the treks used to start from Besisahar, the district headquarter of Lamjung but the road expansion has made it possible to drive directly to Chamje. Overnight at lodge.
Day 04: Trek to Dharapani (1960m). 5-6 hrs
The first day of the trek, we head to Dharapani. From Chamje, we trek down to the River, cross the steel bridge and ascend to Sattale. The trail moves winding with cliffs. While walking, the waterfall view attracts us. In karte village, after passing Tal, there is another bridge to cross. We take a gradual walk to Dharapani, which is our campsite today. Overnight at lodge.
Day 05: Trek Dharapani to Chame (2170m). 5-6 hrs
From Dharapani, we gradually walk to the Bagarchhap, which is a wonderful ethnic (Gurung) village. Then we climb up through the jungle in Timang. The stunning views of the Annapurna and Manaslu can be explored during the excursion. We pass Koto village to reach Chame. Now, we are at the district center of the Manang. We can take a bath in the natural hot spring nearby. Overnight at lodge.
Day 06: Trek Chame to Pisang (3190m). 4-5 hrs
The walk from Chame goes along the bank of the Marshyangdi River and sometimes through the pine forest from its uphill. All the way from Talekhu to Barthang is dotted by the pine forest. The pleasing sound of the water in the river provokes us to head further that is combined with the Himalayan panoramas. Passing the beautiful Dhukurpokhari, we reach to Pisang to stay. Overnight at lodge.
Day 07: Trek Pisang to Manang (3540m). 4-5 hrs
Walking after the breakfast, we climb up gradually to Braga Manang through the juniper forest. The village is similar to the Tibetan settlement and the culture is unique. At the top, there is a monastery that shows the spiritual aspect of the villagers. The region is drier and the walk is tougher to reach our campsite at Manang village. Overnight at lodge.
Day 08: Explore Day in Manang.
On this day, we set out for the hiking around the village and we walk up to the Gangapurna Lake. We are already in the alpine region in the Himalayas that highly requires acclimatization. In Manang, we explore the monastery, Chhortens and enjoy learning the lifestyle of Tibetan Buddhists. Be the part of the local culture. Overnight at lodge.
Day 09: Trek Manang to Letdar or Yak Kharka (4200m). 4-5 hrs
Crossing the Manang village, we reach to the Tenki Manang. The walks become tougher into the alpine zone and reach the Gunsang. The pleasing sceneries of the mighty peaks open meadows and gorges seen superb. The blue sheep graze in this area. Based on the walking situation and physical fitness, we stop at Ledar or Yak Kharka. Overnight at lodge.
Day 10: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4450m). 3-4 hrs, or to Thorong High Camp (4850m). 4- 5 hrs
Based on the physical condition, we begin our trek after breakfast. We are now enough higher part of the altitude, so have to be aware of the mountain sickness. We climb up from the Jarang Khola to the base of the Thorung pass, the cliff region. We have a short walking distance and duration to acclimatize ourselves so that we can have a better walk on the following day to cross the challenging high pass. We can reach to the high camp after lunch if it is possible. Overnight at lodge.
Day 11: Trek Thorong Phedi via Thorong La Pass (5416 m) to Muktinath (3800m). 7-8 hrs
The most challenging of the whole trip, we start the trek early in the morning. Before the temperature gets higher, we have to reach at the top of the Thorung pass (5416m), where the prayer flag always flutters. Strong wind blow is common. We bring the packed lunch, prepare the warm clothes and hot drinks. From the top, we can enjoy the views of the mighty peaks as Annapurna, Gangapurna and Khatung Kang, Lamjung Himalayas and the neighbouring peaks. Then we walk down to the holy place called Muktinath, all the way through the steep steps. Overnight at lodge.
Day 12: Muktinath to Jomsom (2720m) via Kagbeni. 6-7 hrs
It’s a pretty log foothill excursion from Muktinath to Jomsom. However, descending is easier to ascend. First, we climb to the Lubra Danda and walk down to the Lubra village, one of the picturesque Thakali villages in this area. The stunning views of the Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche and the vicinity snowcapped peaks. The wide and flat trail from there continually leads us to the district headquarter of the Mustang region along the windy route beside the Kali Gandaki River bed. Our walking trip concludes here at Jomsom. Overnight at the teahouse/lodge.
Day 13: Jomsom to Pokhara (20min fly) or adventure drive (8-9 hrs)
It is an early morning flight from Jomsom over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri sceneries. The morning weather is very much suitable for the flight. Or the adventurous road drive from Jomsom is also available. Then we transfer to the hotel. After a rest, we set out for the refreshing sightseeing and boating in the Fewa Lake and enjoying the tranquil views. In the evening, we set out for a walk around the lakeside area. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14: Pokhara sightseeing.
After breakfast, we set out for the refreshing sightseeing in Pokhara. You can visit Davis falls, Mahendra cave, Seti gorge and some of the places as Tibetan refugee camp and local market place. In the evening walk around the lakeside area. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu drive. 6-7 hrs or 45 min fly
We are leaving for Kathmandu from Pokhara today. It is again pretty long drive by a tourist bus. In the beginning, we get amused by the Marshyangdi river valley and its surrounding scenarios and of the Trishuli river valley in the second part. After reaching Kathmandu, you transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the evening as you wish. Overnight at hotel.
Day 16. Love Kathmandu Tour (Hidden place in Kathmandu and Durbar square)
Walk with us around the local town in Kathmandu to feel the local life and culture. This will be the right destination to study for those who love to extend the history of Nepal’s Old King family. It is a museum too. It is one of the Kathmandu’s most spectacular legacies of traditional architecture.
Day 17: Departure.
At the farewell day, Mountain Delights Treks and Expedition’s representative drops you at the airport for your final departure. Thank you for your wonderful experience with us.
