The incredible trek in the Everest region- Three high passes trek is not just a thrilling trip but also a picturesque trek. The trek begins from the stunning Khumbu valley with an entrance in the Sagarmatha National Park. The three passes that the trek includes are the Renjo La (4790m), Cho La (5300m) and Kongma La (5528m). The trek also combines the grand Everest base camp and Kalapatthar that add more challenge and more excitement.

Along the trek through the breath catching sceneries, you have some acclimatization days at Namche Bazaar and Gokyo valley with some splendid side hiking trips. It is pretty tough trek but is definitely an incredible trip that is worth taking the effort.The trek commences from Lukla, heading west from the Namche Bazaar to the hidden valleys. This goes near to the Tibetan border. The first high pass of this trek is the Renjo La with the scenic panoramas of Everest and Cho Oyu. Descending to the pristine Gokyo valley, the hike to Gokyo Ri offers colossal views of the Ngozumba glacier. Crossing the technical Cho La pass, that is mostly icy and steep climbing, it directs you to the world renowned Everest base camp. Kongma La pass is the last and the highest high pass in the Everest region that offers picturesque Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu and Cho Oyu. Trekking down, you visit the Tengboche monastery and explore the Tibetan Buddhist culture. The lovely Sherpa villages are not only unique, but also stunning. Lukla is also the ending point of this trek.

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival – 1400 m

Once you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will see Mountain Delights’ representative waiting for you just outside the arrival deck. You will see either our company signboard or a placard with your name printed on it. You will be taken to the trip hotel where you check in and relax for some time. Later we will take you for a short tour of Thamel, the main tourist hub in Kathmandu, to show you some good restaurants, ATMs, money changer and other necessary places you might need to go. We go back to hotel after the tour and talk about the trip in details. If your arrival is late today, we will do this tour and trip briefing tomorrow before we start for the tour.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour - B

We will take you for a historical and heritage tour of Kathmandu valley today after breakfast. A full day sightseeing today in Kathmandu takes you to the amazing heritage sites of

Boudhanath is considered as the biggest Buddhist Stupa in the world which lies in the middle of a beautiful square. The giant Buddhist shrine is a very important pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhist people. The stupa is considered to have been built in 4th/5th centuries and carries some interesting stories behind its establishment. A stupa is basically a relic monument considered as a sacred shrine in Buddhism but there are several other types of stupas other than relic stupas. A stupa symbolizes the journey of a human being from material world to the world of enlightenment.

Pashupatinath is a Hindu Temple area where you can see a very unique cremation culture for the Hindu dead people. The temple which is considered as the most important Shiva temple in Nepal is open for Hindus only thus non-Hindu people have to stay outside the temple premises observing the Hindu death rites and rituals. We can encounter some Sadhus, the holy men, around who look so fascinating for photographs. The place is a rich spiritual and cultural source to have an insight on Nepali life and rituals.

Day 03: Kathmandu – Lukla 2860m – Phakding 2610m 3-4 hrs

Take an early morning flight to Lukla, the gateway town to the Everest trek. Flying for about 45 minutes enjoying spectacularly beautiful view of the middle hills and mountains of Nepal, we land at the airstrip of Lukla. We, then, meet our complete trekking crew at Lukla and proceed on our trek for the day towards Phakding. After a four hours’ trek on a gradual downhill trail, we reach the small village of Phakding on the bank of beautiful Dudh Koshi River. Stay overnight at a teahouse.

Day 04: Phakding – Namche 3,440m 5-6 hrs

The trek for the day today that starts after breakfast at the teahouse goes mostly uphill to Namche. We come across several suspension bridges that allow us to connect from one mountain to the other across rivers and gorges. The effort of the trek is rewarded by the spectacular beauty of Namche bazar and the view of the Himalayan peaks from here. The stunning mountain peaks seen from this homeland of the famous Sherpas are… This homeland of famous climbing tribe Sherpa, who have the roots centuries back into Tibet, has become the ethnic Sherpa town for ages now when they migrated to the Everest region crossing the Himalayas.

Development of tourism activities in the Everest region has brought a significant change in the social and economic lives of Sherpa community as they have been the most preferred climbing assistants and trekking guides. All local Sherpa households of Namche bazar have been benefitted from the tourism industry as they have been able to run hotels at their own hometown. Stay overnight at Namche Bazar.

Day 05: Acclimatization Day

We spend an extra night here at Namche Bazar as part of the acclimatization to the high altitude climate. We will take a day hiking trip to one of the hiking destinations in the area.We set out for an acclimatizing hike to Khumjung and Everest view hotel. We can enjoy the view of mountains like Ama Dablam, Tawoche, Everest, Kantega, Thamserku and the surrounding peaks during the hike today. Another enticing aspect of the hike is an exploration of the monasteries, chhortens and the unique Sherpa lifestyle. We come back to Namche bazar for the overnight stay.

Day 06: Namche - Thame 3844m 3-4 hrs

We take a different route from the regular Everest base camp trekking route while walking to Thame today.The walk is typical through the peaceful trail. Thame is one of the ancient settlements in the Everest region. This route was used as a trade trail with Tibet. We also explore the Thame Gompa. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 07: Thame - Marlung 4137m 4-5 hrs

As the trekking heads up to alpine territory, it becomes more challenging. The thinning air makes our walk adventurous. We go on a gentle pace higher towards Marlung, the destination today. During our walk, we have an opportunity to visit Kyaro Gumba and Taranga temple. Reach to Marlung and rest. Overnight at lodge.

Day 08: Marlung – Lungden 4600m 3-4 hrs

It is a short walk today but we gain pretty high altitude and reache at 4600 metres above sea level when we reach Lumde. Right after we leave Marlung, we get the fantastic view of Ngozumba glacier. It is a steep uphill trek with stunning view of Kongde peak. Overnight at lodge.

Day 09: Lumde - Renjo La 4790m – Gokyo 6-7 hrs

We are walking through the first high pass of the trek- Renjo La. We enjoy the views of the Renjo Lake and Relama Tso. From the top, we can explore the fabulous Kongde view, alpine landscape, Makalu, Tengi Ragi Tau, Rolwaling Range and trek down to the picturesque Gokyo valley. The first pass offers ussome incredible adventure experience of crossing a high pass. We enjoy our evening beside the Gokyo Lake. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 10: Hike to Gokyo Ri (5483m) and back to Gokyo 5 hrs

We hike to the Gokyo Ri early in the morning through the steep rocky trail. Gokyo Ri is the incredible viewpoint which offers awesome view of the soaring mountains in the Everest region. Ngozumba glacier stretches on a long line around the Khumbu glacier. From this place, the views of the Gokyo Lakes and valleys can be seen clearly. It is also an acclimatizing hike so that we can have a better journey through the technical high pass over the Cho La. Then we descend to the Gokyo valley. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.

Day 11: Gokyo - Thagnak 4500m 3-4 hrs

We wake up for wonderful sunrise views. Even the pristine Dudh Pokhari (the lake beside the Gokyo Valley) shines with the sun rays. After the breakfast, we start to head further with the astounding views of Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, Kangtega, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse and various others. Then we reach our campsite at Thagnak. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.

Day 12: Thagnak - Cho La pass (5300m) - Dzongla 4710m 5-6 hrs

we start to trek early in the morning before the sunlight to avoid harsh weather. It is a steep climb up through the tough rocky trail. Cho La Pass at 5300 meters is another good viewpoint for the Everest and other high mountain peaks. If there is snow, we may have to use the ropes, crampoons and climbing equipment to cross the pass. Then, we go on a steep descent which we have to deal very attentively. Our descend comes to end when we reach to our campsite at Dzongla. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.

Day 13: Dzongla - Lobuche 4910m 4 hrs

We walk all the way down to Lobuche to meet the regular Everest Base Camp Trekking route the trekkers along the route. A small settlement, Lobuche offers spectacular views of Himalayan peaks of Thamserku, Kangtega, Tawoche energize us to proceed ahead. Overnight at teahouse/lodge.

Day 14: Lobuche – Gorakshep 5164m 3hrs – Everest Base Camp 5364m 4 hrs

We walk to Gorakshep from Lobuche today. The trail traverses up and down on the mountains and glacial moraine. Once we reach Gorakshep, we take lunch at the tea house we are staying tonight and proceed towards Everest Base Camp in the afternoon. We walk to the epic base of the highest mountain in the world. We walk to the new base camp of the Everest which is different than the old one where Hillary and Tenzing had camped before starting on their adventure journey towards the summit of the highest peak in the world.

After spending some quality time at the base camp, from where we can inhale fresh air from stunning mountains of Pumori, Khumbutse and Nuptse, we start our way back to Gorakshep for the stay overnight.

Day 15: Gorakshep – Kalapatthar 5545m – Dingboche 4410m 7-8 hrs

We go for an early morning hike up to the stunning view point of Kalapatthar, which provides excellent panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks right in front of us. We get to enjoy a stunning sunrise over the Himalayas. Later, we descend to Gorakshep and have our breakfast. We proceed on the trek for the day on the way back down to Dingboche to stay our overnight there.

Day 16: Dingboche – Kongma La 5,528m - Chhukung 4730m

We start early morning after breakfast. We cross the third and the last pass of our trek today. the early morning effort of climbing Kongma La will be nicely rewarded with great views of the Himalayan peaks. Traversing the scenic trail overlooking the enigmatic Island peak, we eventually reach Chhukung for the for overnight stay. We can go around for some exploration of the place.

Day 17: Chhukung – Tengboche 3860m – B/L/D 8-9 hrs

Today we trek to tantalizing Tengboche village. We start the trek early from Chhukung village leaving the massive Island peak behind us. The pleasant tiredness of the wonderful adventure gives us the fuel to walk happily to Tengboche. We walk past beautiful Pangboche village wher we had some nice time exploring monastery while heading towards the base camp. We reach Tengboche village after about 6 hours of trekking journey for another incredible view. Stay overnight at Tengboche village.

Day 18: Tengboche – Monjo 2850m – B/L/D

We walk down to Namche Bazar after breakfast. Descending through the pine forest towards Namche Bazar, we enjoy the one last view of the highest peak in the world. Although Mt. Everest hides from our view, there are several other magnificent mountain peaks to overwhelm us. We walk past Namche Bazar and head further lower to Monjo. Stay overnight at Monjo.

Day 19: Monjo – Lukla 2840m – B/L/D

We are going to complete a round trip at Lukla today. Traversing the trail down towards the Dudh Koshi River and walking along side it, we eventually reach Lukla trekking past Phakding and several other beautiful places. Once we reach Lukla, we say thank you and good bye to our amazing crew members who made a wonderfully successful trip possible. Whatever we do is not enough to express our gratitude towards them but we are highly thankful to them. Stay overnight at Lukla.

Day 20: Lukla – Kathmandu 1400m – B

We take another beautiful morning flight back to Kathmandu by a fixed winged aircraft. Saying a heartfelt good bye to the majestic mountains after so many days of wonderful moments amongst them is quite difficult but we have to do it anyway. We finally land at Kathmandu airport to feel the city air after so many days of wonderful and fresh mountain air. We are transferred to our hotel and left on our own to enjoy and relax.

Day 21: Love Kathmandu Tour (Hidden places in Kathmandu and Durbar square)

Walk with us around the local town in Kathmandu to experience the local life and culture. Durbar square walking tour will be a perfect mixture of culture, history, art, architecture and traditional values prevalent in Kathmandu valley.

Day 22: Departure Day

We will drive you to airport for the departure flight three prior to your flight schedule.
