We will take you for a historical and heritage tour of Kathmandu valley today after breakfast. A full day sightseeing today in Kathmandu takes you to the amazing heritage sites of

Boudhanath is considered as the biggest Buddhist Stupa in the world which lies in the middle of a beautiful square. The giant Buddhist shrine is a very important pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhist people. The stupa is considered to have been built in 4th/5th centuries and carries some interesting stories behind its establishment. A stupa is basically a relic monument considered as a sacred shrine in Buddhism but there are several other types of stupas other than relic stupas. A stupa symbolizes the journey of a human being from material world to the world of enlightenment.

Pashupatinath is a Hindu Temple area where you can see a very unique cremation culture for the Hindu dead people. The temple which is considered as the most important Shiva temple in Nepal is open for Hindus only thus non-Hindu people have to stay outside the temple premises observing the Hindu death rites and rituals. We can encounter some Sadhus, the holy men, around who look so fascinating for photographs. The place is a rich spiritual and cultural source to have an insight on Nepali life and rituals.

Day 03: Kathmandu - Pokhara – Tikhedhunga (1,750m)

We take our breakfast at the hotel and start the day by driving to airport to fly to Pokhara, 200 km west of Kathmandu. When we land in Pokhara, we take a vehicle and drive to Nayapul for about 1.5 hours. After getting our stuffs sorted out for the porters, we start walking towards Tikhedhunga, the destination for today. The trail follows the Modi Khola, a beautiful serene river coming from the Annapurna valley, and heads towards Tikhedhunga on a dirt road for most of the part today.

Day 04: Tikhedhunga – Ghorepani (2,810m)

On the first section of walk we trek steep uphill to Ulleri on nicely paved stone steps. It takes about 2 hours to reach the beautiful village of Ulleri. Ulleri brings the first view of snowy peak for the day as we walk towards Banthanti where we will stop for lunch. The walk ahead of Banthanti is forest walk to Ghorepani. Walking through the Nangethanti, we walk to Upper Ghorepani (1.5 hour), which is located at the centre of the rhododendron forest, just below Poon hill. We can enjoy spectacular view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain peaks once we reach there.

Day 05: Ghorepani - Poon Hill (3210m) - Tadapani (2,710m). 5-6 hrs

We begin our early morning hike to Poon hill, the top of the hill. Panoramic views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Fishtail, Himchuli and other peaks in long panorama can be seen along with the sunrise attraction. To avoid the freezing weather, we can have tea and coffee at the top. The views of blooming rhododendron surround the landscape in spring. Return back to the lodge to have breakfast and start the trek to Tadapani with a steep up climb up hill before starting downhill to Deurali through the rhododendron and pine forest. Then the trail goes further down, through the narrow trail. Banthanti is our lunch point, then walk gradual up through forest, steep down to the stream before making the final and steep uphill walk to Tadapani. Overnight at lodge.

Day 06: Tadapani - Jhinu (Hot Spring) 1500m. 4 hours

After breakfast, we start the trek to Jhinu today. We walk down the trail through forest and to a small settlement just above a river. We cross a suspension bridge and trek uphill to the point where the trail goes two separate ways – one to Chhomrong and the other one to Jhinu Danda. We trek all the way down to Jhinu Danda, which is the best place to spend an overnight. We can enjoy the natural hot spring there, located at the edge of Modi River that is 20 minutes’ walk down from the lodge. Overnight at lodge.

Day 07: Jhinu – Nayapul - Pokhara (5-6 hrs walk, 1.5 hrs drive)

From Jhinu, we follow the ridge of the Modi Khola on its right bank. It is an easy day of walk as the trail doesn’t traverse as steeply as the other days. We can see beautiful waterfalls, green farming terraces and bee hives hanging on cliff. We pass various tiny villages on our trek before reaching Nayapul. Once we reach Nayapul, we take a drive to Pokhara and enjoy the evening in the lake city. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08: Pokhara Exploration

A full day in Pokhara will give us an opportunity to explore a bit of this beautiful city. We can go to Lake Fewa for a peaceful boating experience. Later we can go to visit Davis falls and Gupteswor cave. We will have some free time on our own. There are lots of adventure activities like paragliding, zip lining, bungee jumping, ultra-light flight etc. should we choose to go for some adventure thrill. Or we can simply relax around.

Day 09: Pokhara – Kathmandu 1400m

We drive back to Kathmandu on the same highway we took to go to Pokhara earlier.
