This trekking adventure takes trekkers to the scenic Langtang valley in the Langtang region of the Himalaya. Langtang region was very badly affected by the devastating 7.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal in 2015 with significant casualties. The destruction in the region was so bad and huge that the permission to trek in the region was closed for some time after the earthquake. Huge landslides swept some villages away and it took a significant time to bring the region back into a normal condition. After several detailed surveys of the land structure of the region, it was declared a safe region to travel to and got some international attention as one of the must travel destinations in the world. As new infrastructures in the trekking route have been established, trekkers in the region will have quite comfortable and safe accommodations to stay during their travel period in the region.

The magical charm of the close up Himalayan view never ceases to amaze the travellers in the region no matter what the situation is. It is not only the mountains that attract adventurers to Langtang valley but also incredible Sherpa’s cultural richness of the region is an impressive feature. While you enjoy the natural wonders you can immerse into the amazing cultural atmosphere of the Langtang valley, wildlife, flora and fauna during your trekking adventure.   

Day 01: Kathmandu Arrival – 1400 m

Once you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will see Mountain Delights’ representative waiting for you just outside the arrival deck. You will see either our company signboard or a placard with your name printed on it. You will be taken to the trip hotel where you check in and relax for some time. Later we will take you for a short tour of Thamel, the main tourist hub in Kathmandu, to show you some good restaurants, ATMs, money changer and other necessary places you might need to go. Than we talk about the trip in details. If your arrival is late today, we will do this tour and trip briefing tomorrow .Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour - B

We will take you for a historical and heritage tour of Kathmandu valley today after breakfast. A full day sightseeing today in Kathmandu takes you to the amazing heritage sites of

Boudhanath: It is considered as the biggest Buddhist Stupa in the world which lies in the middle of a beautiful square. The giant Buddhist shrine is a very important pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhist people. The stupa is considered to have been built in 4th/5th centuries and carries some interesting stories behind its establishment. A stupa is basically a relic monument considered as a sacred shrine in Buddhism but there are several other types of stupas other than relic stupas. A stupa symbolizes the journey of a human being from material world to the world of enlightenment.

Pashupatinath: It is a Hindu Temple area where you can see a very unique cremation culture for the Hindu dead people. The temple which is considered as the most important Shiva temple in Nepal is open for Hindus only thus non-Hindu people have to stay outside the temple premises observing the Hindu death rites and rituals. We can encounter some Sadhus, the holy men, around who look so fascinating for photographs. The place is a rich spiritual and cultural source to have an insight on Nepali life and rituals. Day 03: Kathmandu – Syabrubensi 1550 m - B/L/D, 8 hrs drive

Driving the stretch of Kathmandu to Syabrubensi on a scenic mountain road takes us around eight hours. Before we reach the small and beautiful town of Syabrubensi, we can enjoy the rural beauty of Nepal as we drive past several Nepali towns and villages. Once we reach Syabrubensi, we can go for some exploration of the town.Overnight at Lodge.

Day 04: Syabrubensi – Lama Hotel – 2560m – B/L/D, 6 hrs walk

Today is the exciting first day of the trek into the Langtang region. We are walking to Lama Hotel traversing the trail through beautiful villages and amazing landscapes. The first day into the Langtang region brings us some wonderful views and nice fresh mountain air to breathe as we trace the trail on our footsteps. Once we reach Lama Hotel reaching the elevation of 2560 meters above sea level, we check into a mountain guest house(tea house)  and stay overnight there.

Day 05: Lama Hotel – Langtang Valley 3500m – B/L/D, 5 hrs walk

We are going to start the trek for the day to enter Langtang valley after the breakfast today. We are going to gain a good elevation today ,when we reach Langtang valley. The first part of the trek today is a gentle ascent and later it grows into tougher climb. Before we reach the destination today, we walk past lots of Buddhist mani walls, Chhortens, villages, forested part to enjoy the nature, culture and spirituality to the most. Once we reach Langtang village, we check into a tea house and enjoy the relaxing and soothing air of the valley.

Langtang valley was very badly hit by the earthquake and the facilities were swept away by landslides. But the region is declared as safe region to visit after several land surveys. A lot of rebuilding works were carried out in this region after the earthquake with high priority. Some new lodges have been established in slightly a different and safe location than the original location of the village. 

Day 06: Langtang Valley – Kyanjing Gompa 3870m  - B/L/D,3.30  hrs walk.

Another day of walk into the incredible Langtang valley starts after the mouthwatering mountain breakfast and advances towards Kyanjing village as the destination. The walk of the day takes us past beautiful mountain surrounding with amazing views and cultural, spiritual richness. The trail that winds up and down the beautiful mountain tests our endurance. we reach here by lunch and we have half day to explore around.We visit the amazing Kyanjing Gompa, a beautiful and sacred Buddhist monastery and can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Himalayas.

Day 07: Kyanjing – Kyanjing Ri 4250m – Lama Hotel B/L/D 7 hrs

We are going to achieve the highest elevation of the trip today when we go for an early morning hike to Kyanjing Ri. From Kyanjing Ri, we enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks. After spending some wonderful moments at Kyanjing Ri, we hike back to Kyanjin Gumpa for Breakfast and  all the way down to Lama Hotel today for our overnight stay.

Day 08: Lama Hotel – Syabru Village(Thulo Subru)  2200 m. -  B/L/D 6 hrs walk.

After a few days of quality time in the Lagntang valley and Kyanjing, we are trekking back down towards Syabru village today.  The trek takes us to a different route than we took to go towards Langtang valley a few days earlier. We are going to experience the a unique cultural life style of people living in the region and a wonderful natural setting of the amazing landscapes.Stay overnight at Syabru Village.

Day 09: Syabru Village – Dhunche  2000m.– B/L/D ,5 hrs wlak.

We trek to Dhunche today to finish our trekking. Dhunche is a small and beautiful town at the end of our trekking trip. Some people start trekking to Langtang valley from Dhunche as well. Today’s trekking takes us through forest  and natural wonders before reaching Dhunche.Overnight at lodge.

Day 10: Dhunche – Kathmandu – B/LD 7 hrs Drive

Another different perspective on the mountain road is on the way today as we drive back to Kathmandu on the same road we took to Syabrubensi before starting our trekking adventure. We reach Kathmandu; check into hotel and find some relaxing time.

Day 11 .Love Kathmandu Tour (Hidden place in Kathmandu and Durbar square)

Walk with us around the local town in Kathmandu to feel the local life and culture. The tour lets you a great moment to enclose with the religious and cultural affluence to unveil the social and historical mysteries. Bustling city, to view the artistic Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour bequeaths you an opportunity to capture the snaps of the centuries old monuments and historical crafts in the Kathmandu city. we take you walking tour to Local market Ason, Oldest supermarket Vishal Bazar, Kilagod, Hidden Stupa etc.

And we take you Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is famous for it’s unique history, cultural and religion and the living goddess “Kumari” lives here. We can found lots of small monuments and temples in this area. The whole square was listed in world heritage sites.We can see a antique architecture of statue, perfectly carved wooden windows and doors

Day 12: Departure Day

We will drive you to airport for the departure flight there prior to your flight schedule. Thank you so much for visiting us.

What to bring

This list outlines the required things to bring during the trekking hours. There are various selections and brands that you can have your own choice. Those equipments can be bought and hire easily at a reasonable price in Kathmandu.

General

  1. Down sleeping bag (you can borrow with us if required).
  2. Duffel or Rucksack bag  (you can borrow with us if required).
  3. Daypack
  4. Down Jacket (you can borrow with us if required).
  5. Flish liner (you can borrow with us if required).
  6. Walking poles (Walking poles (optional, you can borrow with us if required).
  7. Water bottle with purification tablets.
  8. Hand wash liquids.
  9. Lip guard.
  10. Sun block cream.
  11. Toiletry kit. Be sure to include toilet paper stored in a plastic bag, hand wipes, and liquid hand sanitizer, towel, soap, etc.

  1. Cap and ears covering hat.

  4. Ear-muffs and neck warmer is another piece of gear for extra warmth (optional)

Medicines and First Aid Kits

(Our guide will carry the first aid kit bag during the trek.  We still recommend you to bring your personal first aid kit as you feel it necessary).

  1. Headache and fever medicine.
  2. Ibuprofen for general aches and pains.
  3. Burnt cream.
  4. Immodium or Peptobismol capsules for upset stomach and diarrhea.
  5. Diamox (commonly prescribed as Acetazolamide). Please discuss with us before starting to take this medicine.
  6. Antibiotics.
  7. blister treatments such as mole skin, hand plastsband-aids, some waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc.

Miscellaneous

  1. Passport and extra passport photos (2 copies).
  2. Durable wallet / pouch for travel documents, money and passport.
  3. Pocket knife.
  4. bandanas.
  5. Favorite snack foods and energy bars
  6. Paperback books, cards, mp3 player. Avoid players with moving hardware, as it may not function. Remember, keep these items light weight
  7. Binoculars.
  8. Camera.

All garments should be kept dry using waterproof stuff sacks or large puncture resistant plastic bags.
