This 4 nights 5 days tour of Lhasa city will take you to explore some of the important ancient Buddhist Monasteries, Potala palace – the residence of the Dalai Lama, incredible local market places etc. to give you some insight about Tibetan history, culture, life style and Buddhism.  Explore and experience the awesomeness of Lhasa just in a few days.

Day 01: Arrival Lhasa – 3650m

You will be picked up by our representative on your arrival at Lhasa airport. If you fly to Lhasa from Kathmandu, Nepal, the flight should bring you some of the spectacular sights of the Himalayan ranges as you fly over and past those mighty snow-capped peaks. You will be driven to hotel in Lhasa city on the bank of River Kyichu. Check into the hotel and you will have a free after noon to relax and prepare for the amazing tours to come. You will need this day rest to adjust yourself with the elevation gain so take it easy today.

Day 02: Lhasa Exploration 1st day

We will go for sightseeing tour today after breakfast. The tour will take us to visit and explore the grandeur of Potala Palace. The residence of the Dalai Lama will leave us stunned with the magnificence in architecture and spiritual aura it spreads around.

We will then visit Norbulinka, the Treasure Park, which is the biggest man made park in Tibet. After spending some amazing moments in the park, we will return back to hotel.

Day 03: Lhasa Exploration 2nd day

The tour today is a spiritual tour as we will be visiting different historic and grand monasteries in Lhasa. We will visit some of the most beautiful and important monasteries in Lhasa today which includes the Sera Monastery and Jokhang Temple. Sera Monastery lies about 5 kilometers north to the Lhasa city which once was the residence of more than 5,000 monks. Another important monastery, Jokhang Temple, lies in Old Lhasa. This is a historically important monastery where the most important religious treasures in Tibet are kept. The monastery also has a golden statue of Shakyamuni Buddha.

After visiting these two important monasteries, we will go to explore and experience local social life of Barkhor Market. After the sightseeing, we return back to hotel and relax.

Day 04: Lhasa Exploration 3rd day

We will take breakfast and proceed to visit Tibetan Medical Institute to see and learn about the traditional Tibetan Medical science. We will have some idea of how the traditional Tibetan medical system works. We will have a free afternoon to explore market places to do some souvenir shopping if we like to. Take easy afternoon and stay overnight at hotel in Lhasa.

Day 05: Departure Day

We will transfer you to airport for your departure flight.

What to bring
This list outlines the required things to bring during the trekking hours. There are various selections and brands that you can have your own choice. Those equipment can be bought and hire easily at a reasonable price in Kathmandu. 
 
Documents:
You are advised to own a small waist pouch or document bag to manage the following documents properly:
  1. Passport with Photo copies, Photographs, Identity card, Dairy for addresses, contacts, small notes etc.
  2. Ball pens with spare refills Maps/Books etc.
  3. Airline/Railway tickets/Vouchers.
  4. Any other document for personal purpose

General

  1. Down sleeping bag (you can borrow with us if required).
  2. Duffel or Rucksack bag (you can borrow with us if required).
  3. Daypack 
  4. Down Jacket (you can borrow with us if required). 
  5. Flish liner (you can borrow with us if required).
  6. Walking poles (Walking poles (optional, you can borrow with us if required).
  7. Water bottle with purification tablets.
  8. Hand wash liquids.
  9. Lip guard. 
  10. Sun block cream. 
  11. Toiletry kit. Be sure to include toilet paper stored in a plastic bag, hand wipes, and liquid hand sanitizer, towel, soap, etc.
     
Upper Body - Head / Ears / Eyes
  1. Cap and ears covering hat.  
  2. Glacier glasses
  3. Head torch. 
  4. Ear-muffs and neck warmer is another piece of gear for extra warmth (optional) 
 
Hand
  1. Hand gloves (1 light pair and 1 warm pair)
Core Body
 
  1. T-shirts.
  2. Light and weight thermal tops and warm thermal top.
  3. Light jacket and vest.
  4. Wind and rain jacket.
  5. Shirts and warm shirts.
Lower Body – Legs
  1. Long and short hiking pants.
  2. Lightweight and warm long underwear.
  3. Rain and windproof trousers and warm trekking trousers.
Feet
Thin and thick socks.
Trekking boots, light shoes and sandal. 
Trekking Gaiters.
 
Medicines and First Aid Kits
(Our guide will carry the first aid kit bag during the trek.  We still recommend you to bring your personal first aid kit as you feel it necessary).
  1. Headache and fever medicine.
  2. Ibuprofen for general aches and pains.
  3. Burnt cream.
  4. Immodium or Pepto bismol capsules for upset stomach and diarrhea.
  5. Diamox (commonly prescribed as Acetazolamide). Please discuss with us before starting to take this medicine.
  6. Antibiotics.
  7. Blister treatments such as mole skin, hand plasts Band-Aids, some waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc. 
Miscellaneous
  1. Passport and extra passport photos (2 copies).
  2. Durable wallet / pouch for travel documents, money and passport.
  3. Pocket knife.
  4. Bandanas.
  5. Favorite snack foods and energy bars
  6. Paperback books, cards, mp3 player. Avoid players with moving hardware as it may not function. Remember, keep these items light weights 
  7. Binoculars.
  8. Camera.
All garments should be kept dry using waterproof stuff sacks or large puncture resistant plastic bags.
