Mardi Himal Trekking is a short and spectacular trip in the Annapurna region. It is less touristic are trek that can be done basic tea house.

The trip covers some of the breathtaking glacial valleys and the hidden landscape of the Annapurna. The trail is harsh and slippery to slogging ahead till the Mardi Himal base camp. It is best way to discover the dazzling sceneries.

The trek goes through the miraculous rhododendron forest at the initial portion and eventually the setting turns on the rugged trail dominated by the hard rock formation. During the trekking, we can explore the dramatic panoramas of Mardi Himal, Fishtail, Annapurna and Himchuli peaks. The trail undulates along the ridge and after a tiresome walk, you gain the High camp  and  Mardi Himal base camp on the following day. The entire Annapurna range is visible from this points.You can enjoy local home stay and tea garden last day of your trek.

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m).

Welcome to Nepal. Representative of Mountain Delights Treks and Expedition receives you at the Tribhuvan international airport, Kathmandu. Then you transfer to the hotel. After a short rest, we take you to the Thamel tour (about 30 minutes) to show you the shopping centre, bank and ATM, restaurants and money changers. Then, brief introduction about the upcoming itinerary is given. If you have a late flight, we do it on the following day.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 02:  Kathmandu Sightseeing.

Pashupatinath Temple: It is a Hindu temple devoted to Lord Shiva, located beside the Bagmati River. It is one of the most significant temples for the Hindu devotes around the world and the UNESCO site. The golden pagoda style temple is richly carved with silver doors. On the day of Shivaratri, a big fair is held around the month of February/March.

Boudhanath Stupa: One of the biggest Stupas in the world, is located on the east in Kathmandu. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four prime direction, keeping watch for virtuous behaviour and human success. King Man Deva at the advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini had built this remarkable Stupa. The Stupa resembles the Mahayana philosophy.

Day 03: Fly to Pokhara, about 30 min (900m), drive to Kande drive and walk  Bhaisikharka( Austrilyan camp)  or  Deurali (2060m) 1.30 /2.30 hrs.

In the morning, we take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara for half an hour. Taking the right hand seat, it is a wonderful chance to view the Himalayan range. Another option is taking about 6 hrs drive There is also an option of the drive through Prithvi Highway. The picturesque landscape and hilly gorges can be explored. Leaving Pokhara, we take a scenic drive to Kande and begin the trek from here. The route is friendly and quiet and few trekkers heads through this trail. The trail then is steeper up to the Australian Camp (2060m). After lunch, we slightly downhill to Pothana and entry our check in at the ACAP counter. Climb up to Deurali for Overnight.

Day 04: Deurali to Forest Camp (2500m) 6 hrs

Second day starts from Deurali to Forest Camp. On the way, we walk on the plain way for an hour, which goes through the road dotted with pine forest. Then it goes through the rhododendron forest, which makes the whole forest area extremely colourful. We bring packed lunch and reach to forest camp for the overnight stay. Overnight at teahouse(lodge)

Day 05: Forest Camp to Low Camp (2970m)  3.30  hrs

Today we have shorter walk good for accomolazation as you are reaching almost 3000m. After breakfast  we start our  walk , enjoy mix forest  You will get your lunch at Low camp and stay overnight here. Yuy can enjoy the astonishing view of Mt. Fistail view in the evening and morning.

Day 06: Low  Camp-High Camp (3550m). 3.30   hrs

 Today also we have short Walk which is good  for altitude as you are going over three thousand meter.  We recommened to drink more water.Enjoy the forest  and  the snow capped Himalayas as South Annpurna, Himchuli, Mt. Fishtail along with the stunning villages as Chhomrong Village, Ghandruk Village and Fishtail  Basecamp valley can be seen. Reach to high camp and rest. Enjoy Sunset view.Overnight at teahouse(Lodge.)

Day 07: High Camp (3550m)to Mardi Base Camp (4500m) back to High Camp. 6-7 hrs

After enjoy sunrise and   warm breakfast, we embark from High camp  to Mardi Base Camp  via View point from where you can enjoy mountain view and other view.We take packed lunch as there is no palce to eat on the way. It is about 7 hours walk through the steep trail  and rocky climb. Today is hardest  day of the trek.It separates the grassy land to the rocky and glacial area and the walk goes through lush, green and high mountain. Enjoy your packed lunch with a magnificient view of Mardi Himal, Annapurna-I, and others. You back same way to High camp for Overnight at teahouse(Lodge)

Day 08: High Camp to Sidding (1700m) 5.30 hrs

This is a precious morning to view the breathtaking sunrise. After having breakfast, we start to trek down to Sidding through the pie forest and rhododendron forest. Having lunch at the low camp, we continue walking  down to Sidding. Overnight at teahouse(lodge)

Day 09: Sidding to Lwong(1460m)  5.30  hrs

With a breakfast at sidding, we start walking towards Lwong which is gradual up and in some places through the flat trail as well. At Ghalel, we stop for the lunch. It is a tiny but picturesque Gurung village that has got home stay facility. Then we walk to Lwong, which is an old village with traditional houses. There is  tea garden and ACAP office. The evening can be melodious with folk singing and dancing organized by the local mother group.Overnight at Home stay.

Day 10: Lwong to Khoramukh ( 1.30 hrs walk) then drive to Pokhara( 1.30 hrs)

Early morning we walk to enjoy the tea garden. We can also enjoy the mountain views. Then we back to Lwong and have a breakfast. Then we trek to Koramukh and drive further to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

Day 11: Pokhara sightseeing.

After breakfast, we set out for the refreshing sightseeing in Pokhara. You can visit Davis falls, Gupteshower  cave,  international mountain museum, take boating  to fewa lake than  evening, walk around the lakeside area. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Pokhara to Kathmandu drive. 6-7 hrs

We drive  for Kathmandu from Pokhara today.In the beginning, we get amused by the Marshyangdi river valley and its surrounding scenarios and of the Trishuli river valley in the second part.  You will enjoy local thinsg happning on the way.After reaching Kathmandu, you transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the evening as you wish. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13: Love Kathmandu Tour (Hidden place in Kathmandu and Durbar square)  4 hrs

After breakfast Walk with us around the local town in Kathmandu to feel the local life and culture. The tour lets you a great moment to enclose with the religious and cultural affluence to unveil the social and historical mysteries. Bustling city, to view the artistic Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour bequeaths you an opportunity to capture the snaps of the centuries old monuments and historical crafts in the city.

And we take you Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is famous for it’s unique history, cultural and religion and the living goddess “Kumari” lives here. We can found lots of small monuments and temples in this area. The whole square was listed in world heritage  site.After  hald day tour you are free and easy.Overnight at hotel.

Day 14:  Departure.

At the farewell day, our  representative drops you at the airport for your final departure. Thank you for your wonderful experience with us.

What to bring

This list outlines the required things to bring during the trekking hours. There are various selections and brands that you can have your own choice. Those equipments can be bought and hire easily in a reasonable price in Kathmandu.  


  1. Down sleeping bag (you can borrow with us if required).
  2. Duffel or Rucksack bag  (you can borrow with us if required).
  3. Daypack
  4. Down Jacket (you can borrow with us if required).
  5. Flish liner (you can borrow with us if required).
  6. Walking poles (Walking poles (optional, you can borrow with us if required).
  7. Water bottle with purification tablets.
  8. Hand wash liquids.
  9. Lip guard.
  10. Sun block cream.
  11. Toiletry kit. Be sure to include toilet paper stored in a plastic bag, hand wipes, and liquid hand sanitizer, towel, soap, etc.

  1. Cap and ears covering hat.

  3. Head torch.
  4. Ear-muffs and neck warmer is another piece of gear for extra warmth (optional)

Medicines and First Aid Kits

(Our guide will carry the first aid kit bag during the trek.  We still recommend you to bring your personal first aid kit as you feel it necessary).

  1. Headache and fever medicine.
  2. Ibuprofen for general aches and pains.
  3. Burnt cream.
  4. Immodium or Pepto bismol capsules for upset stomach and diarrhea.
  5. Diamox (commonly prescribed as Acetazolamide). Please discuss with us before starting to take this medicine.
  6. Antibiotics.
  7. blister treatments such as mole skin, hand plasts band-aids, some waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc.


  1. Passport and extra passport photos (2 copies).
  2. Durable wallet / pouch for travel documents, money and passport.
  3. Pocket knife.
  4. bandanas.
  5. Favorite snack foods and energy bars
  6. Paperback books, cards, mp3 player. Avoid players with moving hardware as it may not function. Remember, keep these items light weight
  7. Binoculars.
  8. Camera.

All garments should be kept dry using waterproof stuff sacks or large puncture resistant plastic bags.
