Experience the thrill of the Annapurna Base Camp Direct Route with Mountain Delights. This 7‑day adventure takes you closer to the iconic peaks of Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Hiunchuli in the heart of the Himalayas.

This Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Direct Route Trek will take you through the scenic trail in the Himalayas that takes you to the Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m) which is a natural basin.

This 7-day trek is carefully designed for you, so you can experience a high-altitude experience even in short period of time. Starting from Pokhara, you gradually ascend through forested trails and steep stone steps, reaching the snow-capped sanctuary of Annapurna Base Camp before heading back down the same trail.

 

Difficulty and Altitude Challenges

Moderate Difficulty

The Annapurna Base Camp Direct Route can be classified as moderate due to the significant elevation gain, continuous daily hike, and rapid ascent profile. The trek does not involve any technical climbing or glacier crossing, however, trekkers should be in excellent physical condition with good condition with good cardiovascular endurance and the ability to handle back-to-back long hiking days.

Elevation Gain: Jhinu Danda sitting at an elevation of 1500m susbsequently treks to Annapurna Base Camp, which has an elevation of 4130m. With little opportunity for gradual acclimatization, the trek is completed within a short period of time.

 

Daily Hike Duration: Ranges from 4 to 7 hours per day with steep ascents and descents.

Altitude Risks: A moderate possibility of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) puts risks above 3000m. It is extremely important to pace, hydrate, and manage altitude carefully

You will be greeted warmly at the Tribhuvan International Airport by a friendly representative of Mountain Delights. After your arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel, following the check-in process and some rest, you can explore Thamel, known for its trekking goods, Money changer, handicrafts, and great restaurants. We will conduct a pre-trek briefing at our office. You will spend the night in a hotel in Kathmandu.

Start your day with a warm breakfast at your hotel before beginning a guided tour of three culturally important UNESCO World Heritage Sites:

Pashupatinath Temple: It is one of the most celebrated Hindu temples in South Asia. The temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. This place is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. The Bagmati river flowing beside the temple is religiously and spiritually significant for Hindus where the cremation of the dead body takes place. Pashupatinath temple holds the most prominence during Shivaratri – Shiva’s birthday and thousands of pilgrims gather in the night to celebrate the day.

Boudhanath Stupa: It is one of the biggest Stupas in terms of size and height in Nepal and is located east of Kathmandu in the ancient trade route between India-Nepal and Tibet. The site is peaceful and culturally filled with the intermixed influence of Tibetan and Sherpa roots. Stupa built on the trading route between Kathmandu and Tibet has four pairs of eyes directed towards all four directions. It is believed to be influenced by Mahayana Buddhist philosophy.

Swyambhunath:  Swyambhunath, also known as “Monkey Temple,” is a stupa that is sacred to both Buddhist and Hindu devotees. It is situated on a hill at 1406 meters (4613 feet) where one can enjoy a full panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley. The stupa is believed to be self-originated. The central stupa is encircled with prayer flags and small shrines. The eye of the central stupa serves as the focal point for meditation and reflection. After a day full of cultural exploration, stay overnight in a hotel.

You will walk along the terraced fields, riverside villages, and bamboo forests. After decent ascend and descend you will reach the New Bridge over the Modi Khola. From there you will ascend to Jhinu Dada. The beautiful village with magnificent views of Annapurna ranges, Landruk village in the right. You can relax in a natural hot spring, which is located 20 minutes downhill from the lodge. Overnight Stay at a teahouse in Jhinu.

You will walk along the terraced fields, riverside villages, and bamboo forests. After decent ascend and descend you will reach the New Bridge over the Modi Khola. From there you will ascend to Jhinu Dada. The beautiful village with magnificent views of Annapurna ranges, Landruk village in the right. You can relax in a natural hot spring, which is located 20 minutes downhill from the lodge. Overnight Stay at a teahouse in Jhinu.

After breakfast in the morning, day starts with a challenging trek to uphill to Chhomrong, a remarkable Gurung village with exceptional views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain). After a short break, you will descend through the long stairway to Chhomrong Khola. The trail then steeply ascends through green forest to Sinuwa, from where trail becomes a bit demanding through rocky slope. You will walk slowly but consistently to Bamboo, a small beautiful, and peaceful village nestled withing green bamboo forests. Overnight at a teahouse in Bamboo.

Today is the most dramatic day of the day as you will reach the highest point of the trek, Annapurna Base Camp. After reaching machhapuchre Base Camp (3,700 m) you can take a scenic break enjoying the breathtaking views of Machhapuchhre mountain. After a short rest, you go further for Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) located at 4,130 m in the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary. You can get the overwhelming views in 360- degree directions with Mt.Annapurna I (8,091m) and Annapurna South, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Gangapurna and many more. Overnight at a teahouse.

Start your day with a short hike above the base camp to witness beautiful sunrise over the snowcapped Annapurna range. After breakfast, retrace the way back, trekking down is not as difficult as while ascending. Yet, it is strenuous on the knees, so we recommend you to use trekking poles. As you return to lower altitude, the views and atmosphere will change as you walk through MBC, Deurali, and then Bamboo.

The day starts with an effortless steady ascent back to Sinuwa and Chhomrong, followed by a steep descent down stone steps to Jhinu Danda. On the last day, follow the ridge of Modi Khola on its right bank. We can see beautiful waterfalls, green farming terraces, and bee hives hanging on cliffs. We pass various tiny villages on our trek before reaching Nayapul. As you reach Nayapul, a private vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Pokhara, where you can relax, have dinner by the lakeside, and then take a flight to Kathmandu. Take a sightseeing tour around Pokhra. Overnight in Pokhara.

Today we take morning  scnic flight to kathmandu, check in hotel,and relax.After Lunch we will have a trip around the local places in Kathmandu Valley to get a sense of the historical, cultural, and spiritual affluence, as well as to unravel the social and historical riddles and see the artistic treasures. During the tour, you can capture the centuries-old monuments and ancient crafts. We will Ason's local market, New Road's oldest supermarket-Kilagal, and the hidden stupa among other places. We next proceed to Kathmandu Durbar Square on foot. The visit to the temple of the living goddess "Kumari" is the most unusual experience in the square.A walking tour of Durbar Square will be a great blend of culture, history, art, architecture, and traditional values present in the valley. Overnight stay at hotel.

After breakfast in the morning, day starts with a challenging trek to uphill to Chhomrong, a remarkable Gurung village with exceptional views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain). After a short break, you will descend through the long stairway to Chhomrong Khola. The trail then steeply ascends through green forest to Sinuwa, from where trail becomes a bit demanding through rocky slope. You will walk slowly but consistently to Bamboo, a small beautiful, and peaceful village nestled withing green bamboo forests. Overnight at a teahouse in Bamboo.


Day 6 : Deurali - Annapurna Base Camp (4130m): 4 hours

Duration: 11 Days Accomodation: Teahouse

Today is the most dramatic day of the day as you will reach the highest point of the trek, Annapurna Base Camp. After reaching machhapuchre Base Camp (3,700 m) you can take a scenic break enjoying the breathtaking views of Machhapuchhre mountain. After a short rest, you go further for Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) located at 4,130 m in the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary. You can get the overwhelming views in 360- degree directions with Mt.Annapurna I (8,091m) and Annapurna South, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Gangapurna and many more. Overnight at a teahouse.


Day 7 : Annapurna Base Camp - Bamboo (2500m). 6-7 hrs:

Duration: 11 Days Accomodation: Teahouse

Start your day with a short hike above the base camp to witness beautiful sunrise over the snowcapped Annapurna range. After breakfast, retrace the way back, trekking down is not as difficult as while ascending. Yet, it is strenuous on the knees, so we recommend you to use trekking poles. As you return to lower altitude, the views and atmosphere will change as you walk through MBC, Deurali, and then Bamboo.

Day 8 : Bamboo - Jhinu (Hot Spring) 1500m. 4 hours:

Duration: 11 Days Accomodation: Teahouse

The day starts with an effortless steady ascent back to Sinuwa and Chhomrong, followed by a steep descent down stone steps to Jhinu Danda. Take the afternoon break and soak yourself in the natural hot springs, to relieve sore muscles after trekking at such high altitudes. Overnight at a teahouse in Jhinu Danda


Day 9 : Jhinu – Kymu ( 1.5 hrs walk and - Pokhara 3 hrs drive).

On the last day, follow the ridge of Modi Khola on its right bank. We can see beautiful waterfalls, green farming terraces, and bee hives hanging on cliffs. We pass various tiny villages on our trek before reaching Nayapul. As you reach Nayapul, a private vehicle will be waiting to take you back to Pokhara, where you can relax, have dinner by the lakeside, and then take a flight to Kathmandu. Take a sightseeing tour around Pokhra. Overnight in Pokhara.


Day 10 : Fly to Kathmandu & Love Kathmandu Tour:

Duration: 11 Days Accomodation: Hotel

Today we take morning  scnic flight to kathmandu, check in hotel,and relax.After Lunch we will have a trip around the local places in Kathmandu Valley to get a sense of the historical, cultural, and spiritual affluence, as well as to unravel the social and historical riddles and see the artistic treasures. During the tour, you can capture the centuries-old monuments and ancient crafts. We will Ason's local market, New Road's oldest supermarket-Kilagal, and the hidden stupa among other places. We next proceed to Kathmandu Durbar Square on foot. The visit to the temple of the living goddess "Kumari" is the most unusual experience in the square.A walking tour of Durbar Square will be a great blend of culture, history, art, architecture, and traditional values present in the valley. Overnight stay at hotel.


Day 11 : Final Departure:

Duration: 11 Days

Our representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport three hours prior to your scheduled flight. As you board your flight, you will carry the beautiful memories of beautiful terrains, rich culture, and splendid experiences of Nepal for a lifetime. Equipment Checklist

This list outlines the required things to bring during the trekking tours. There are various selections and brands that you can choose as per your interest. All required trekking equipment can be bought or even hired easily at a reasonable price in Kathmandu.

General Gear

  • Daypack (30–40L) – With chest/hip straps and rain cover.
  • Duffel bag (80–100L) – Carried by porters (we can provide if needed).
