Seti River Rafting is the perfect rafting river for a thrilling adventure experience. The river is popular among first-time rafters and is considered the safest river for rafting, kayaking, and family trips. It has a relatively small volume of water, a blue and pleasant water temperature, and gentle rapids of classes II and III. Seti River Rafting is largely for rafting beginners and those who want to minimize dangers due to its gentle rapids.
The Seti River flows through two magnificent and picturesque locations, providing a good range of Nepalese landscapes, including local communities, terraced rice fields, waterfalls, suspension bridges, a jungle rich with flora and fauna, and a stunning white sand beach for camping under the stars. Seti means white, as the river water is mixed with white clay, giving it a whitish appearance. However, owing to the intensity of rainwater, the river turns white only during the monsoon. Similarly, the intensity of the rapid increases during the monsoon as the level of water increases, attracting rafters to challenge with its real adrenaline rush.
The 35-kilometer rafting journey starts at Damauli, a small hamlet lying on the Prithvi Highway between Mugling and Pokhara, whereas the take-out point is Gai Ghat. We pass through the Magar village and, during the trip, discover the distinctive characteristics of Magar culture, lifestyle, and much more.
Seti River, a warm-water rafting destination, is ideal for family outings and get-togethers in a gorgeous setting. Enjoy the sounds of birds chirping in a remote region while having fun on the white water with Mountain Delight's team.
We drive to Damauli from Kathmandu early in the morning. We'll start down the Seti Khola when the rafts have been rigged. We will spend the entire day in the densely wooded forest canyon. The lush foliage we observe is a relic of the once-vast wooded region that formerly blanketed Nepal's middle hills. Overnight at a local lodge.
Even today, the locals are enthralled by our presence. Rafting is an excellent opportunity to see animals in their natural habitat. While we stop for lunch, we can explore the surrounding areas, take photographs, watch birds or you can relax. We will come across a little but tricky rapid near the town of Sarnghat later in the afternoon. Saranghat is a picturesque middle hills village inhabited by Magars, who are known for decades of service with the Gurkha troops. Our first night will be spent camping on a large beach just below the settlement area. Overnight in a tented camp.
We'll start down the river after breakfast and repacking the raft. After passing through Seti Khola and entering the Trishuli River, we come upon a technical grade 3 rapids. The Terai plain appears in front of us as the main hills fade away. The landscape has drastically transformed. Drive back to Kathmandu/Chitwan/Pokhara via twisted harsh rock formations that give way to sandstone and gravel deposited by antecedent rivers. Overnight at a hotel.
