This trek starts from Lukla and reaches the final destination, Everest Base Camp, via Gokyo and Cho La Pass. During the trek, you will accomplish more by climbing peaks including Gokyo Ri  (5,357 m/ 17,575 ft) and Kalaptthar (5,545 m/18,192 ft) to get an amazing view of Mt. According to your arrival time, our representative will be there to greet you at the airport. You will then be taken to the respective hotel, where you check-in. After a short rest and time to freshen up, we will then show you Thamel – one of the busiest tourist areas. You can look up for ATMs, money changer, shops, retailers, gears or any other necessities that you require. You will then be taken to our office for tour briefing. Overnight will be spent at the hotel. Delay on flight will postpone the schedule for next feasible day.

You drive a short distance to the domestic airport terminal for an early morning flight to Lukla ; a small town that developed after the Everest region became famous. It is a thrilling flight of about 30 minutes that offers spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges, riverbeds, terraced landscapes, and forest lands before landing at the Lukla airstrip — notoriously famous as one of the most dangerous airports in the world. You will meet some of the crew members here (porters).

The trek for today is short and easy to begin with, as most of the trail descends or has only gentle uphill sections. After a three-and-a-half to four-hour trek, you reach the small village of Phakding on the bank of the beautiful Dudh Koshi River. Overnight at a local lodge.

Note: The flight may depart from Ramechhap instead, in which case you will need to drive 3–4 hours.

duration3.5 bed Lodge meals B/L/D

After breakfast at the teahouse, we start our day toward Namche. The first part follows the Bhote Koshi River through a beautiful forest stretch, crossing several suspension bridges. The last part, after lunch, is a steep uphill climb of about two hours. This effort is rewarded by the spectacular beauty of Namche Bazaar and views of the Himalayan peaks from here. This is the homeland of the famous climbing tribe, the Sherpas, who migrated to the Everest region by crossing the Himalayas centuries ago. Arrive in Namche and check in to your hotel. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.

bed Lodge meals B/L/D

After breakfast, you set out for an acclimatization hike. First, visit around Namche Bazaar, up to the top of Namche where the Sherpa Museum is located. You will then visit the Sagarmatha National Park headquarters, from where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the mountains. The peaks visible include Mt. Everest (8,848 m/29,029 ft), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m/27,940 ft), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m/22,349 ft), Mt. Thamserku (6,608 m/21,680 ft), Kantenga (6,782 m/22,251 ft), Cho-Latse (6,440 m/21,128 ft), Tawache or Taboche (6,542 m/21,463 ft), Kongde Peak (6,187 m/20,298 ft), and others.

If you are still energetic and want to go higher, we hike up to Syangboche Airport (Old Airport) and the Everest View Hotel. You can enjoy the magnificent view of the Himalayan panorama from this hilltop. The luxury hotel, located at an altitude of 3,880 m, offers tea and coffee for trekkers if you want to rest. From here, you can decide to return to your hotel the same way, or make a trip to the biggest Sherpa village in the Everest region — Khumjung village — where the Hillary School is located. Back to your hotel in the late afternoon. Overnight at a local lodge.

The trek to Tengboche includes uphill, downhill, and gentle stretches. The first couple of hours are beautiful, with rewarding views of the Himalayan peaks. You will walk down to the river at Phungi Tenga, your lunch spot, then climb steeply uphill for about two hours.

On reaching Tengboche and checking into a teahouse, you will explore the surrounding area and Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery in the Khumbu region, where Tibetan Buddhism is practiced and which is known for the fascinating Mani Rimdu festival that falls in October–November (the date is fixed according to the lunar calendar).

Awe-inspiring views of the Himalayan peaks, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku, Gokyo Ri, Kongde Peak, Kantenga, Tawache, and others, make your day. Overnight at a local lodge.

The trek becomes tougher from here. As you approach higher altitude and the deserted alpine glacial landscape, you will find it harder to breathe than on earlier days.

On this day we pass through beautiful pastureland and the village of Pheriche, where the Trekkers' Aid Post offers treatment and consultation for altitude sickness along the riverbed. We continue to the yak pastures of Lobuche (4,910 m), crossing the Dhugla Pass, where memorials to those who lost their lives in the Himalayas are situated. Overnight at a lodge in Lobuche.

After breakfast, your big day begins. You set out for Everest Base Camp, walking through moraines parallel to the Khumbu Glacier, which is visible near Gorak Shep the small town where you will sleep tonight. Once you reach Gorak Shep, eat a meal and get ready for Base Camp. The trail winds through glacial moraines and over rocks. It takes about 3 hours of hiking to reach Base Camp, from where you can take a closer look at the Khumbu Glacier and even walk across part of it.

This Base Camp, located on the southern face, is used by expeditions. If you reach here between March and May, you will see hundreds of colorful tents belonging to climbers. You will then return to Gorak Shep and stay at a lodge there for the night.

Hiking to the base camp of Cho La Pass from Dzongla is fairly easy, with a gradual downhill on a gentle slope. From there, you climb the steepest route on this trek. The trekking is physically demanding, as the descent on the rocky trail from Cho La Pass to Thangnak is quite long. Finally, you reach Thangnak for an overnight stay at a teahouse.

As soon as we leave Thangnak and climb a short, steep stretch to the chorten at the top, the view of the mountains is magnificent. • Down Jacket (we can provide if you need one but is to be returned after the trek)
  • Fleece Liner (we can provide if you need one but is to be returned after the trek)

  • Headlamp
  • Some people like ear-muffs; These are optional; a good hat, balaclava, and hooded jacket should really be sufficient, but this is a personal choice for some people (optional).
  • A neck warmer is another piece of gear for extra warmth

Hand

  • A pair of liner gloves, thin wool or synthetic, useful alone on mild days or as a layer inside other gloves / mitts for additional warmth.
  • One pair warm gloves
  • Instant hand warmers are always nice in a pinch, but really shouldn't be necessary on the trek. Bringing appropriate hand protection as recommended above, should be sufficient (optional).

Core Body

  • T-shirts
  • Long shirts
  • Light and expedition weight thermal tops.
  • Fleece jacket or pullover.
  • Windproof / Waterproof Jacket

  • Soft shell pants - synthetic, full zip from top and bottom preferable.
  • Trekking pants, preferably that zip on/off at the knees so they double as shorts.
  • Hard shell pants. Waterproof / breathable, Gore-Tex or equivalent is best. Should zip from the top and bottom - this makes it easier to put on over boots without getting undressed should the weather change once you are underway for the day.

Warm Trousers to put on at the evening and morning

Feet

  • Two-four pairs of liner socks, synthetic or capilene.
  • Two-three pair’s heavy weight socks to be worn over liner socks.
  • One pair light weight socks, a good option for the lower / warmer parts of the trail.
