Chisapani Nagarkot Trek Overview
Chisapani Nagarkot Trekking is one of the nearest and most famous treks around the Kathmandu Valley. This trek is intended to provide you with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the diverse wonders of nature, rural Nepal, and the awe-inspiring majesty and beauty of spectacular mountain ranges.
The starting point of this trek is Sundarijal, which is one hour away from Kathmandu by road. Sundarijal is the most important place, as it is a source of drinking water for many of the inhabitants of Kathmandu Valley.
The trekking trail passes through the forested hills and streams of Sundarijal to reach Chisapani, the first destination of this trek. In Chisapani, you will be enjoying the true beauty of nature while being away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and your interactions with the residents will enhance the experience.
After an overnight stay at Chisapani, we will continue our trek to Nagarkot (2195 m/7201 ft). This place is famous among domestic and international tourists for its stunning sunrise views and Himalayan panorama. On a clear, sunny day, we will have the opportunity to see the Himalayan ranges of Everest, Langtang, Gaurishankar, and Ganesh Himal.
The Chisapani Nagarkot Trek is an easy trek appropriate for all ages and is possible in all seasons throughout the year.
Chisapani Nagarkot Trek Itinerary
Collapse All -We will drive to Sundarijal after breakfast, which will take about an hour, and we will begin our hiking from Sundarijal. The trail gradually ascends through pine and oak forest, and this Shivapuri National Park is a fantastic site for bird watching, as well as seeing some other wild animals. A panoramic view of the Himalaya and the valley will be seen from Chisapani. Overnight local lodge.
It takes 6-7 hours to reach Nagarkot from Chisapani. After having a delicious breakfast, we will start our hike through Chauki Bhangyang, and continue the charming trails that lead us to Nagarkot. It is a popular destination for sunrise and views of Himalayas. The Himalayan range, which stretches from Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchenjunga in the east, emerges from the darkness on a clear day to greet the fortunate visitor with its awe-inspiring majesty and splendor. Overnight local lodge.
After breakfast, begin your scenic trek from Nagarkot toward the peaceful hilltop destination of Namobuddha. The trail passes through lush forests, traditional villages, terraced farmland, and beautiful countryside, offering occasional views of the Himalayan ranges. Enjoy the tranquil surroundings and experience the authentic rural lifestyle of Nepal along the way. After approximately 5–6 hours of walking, arrive at Namobuddha, one of Nepal’s most revered Buddhist pilgrimage sites. Explore the sacred monastery and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before settling in for the night.
After breakfast, we drive through the pine forest along with Phulbari and up and down a few more hills before arriving at Namobuddha Hill. Namobuddha is a very important Buddhist pilgrimage location in Kavre district, some 38 kilometers east of Kathmandu at an elevation of 1,750 m/5741 ft. The stupa and shrines that have been built on this picturesque little hill commemorate an ancient holy spot where a legendary prince named Mahasattva sacrificed himself to a famished Tigress with several underfed cubs. The legendary event is memorialized on a stone slab close to a holy stupa and also a good view of the valley and mountains. We return to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.

Exceptional time in Kathmandu
Oct 2023 • Couples
Our highly professional tour guide Mr.Jayaram with Mr.Narayan as driver get us to all the amazing and beautiful places in and around Kathmandu full of history, culture and tradition.
Unforgettable impressions we had when we watch the sunrise at Nargakot to see the peaks of the Himalayan Range emerging in the sun.
Also amazing was the paragliding experiance, soaring like an eagle above the Chandragiri Hill with full view on the Himalayan and landing at Chitlang Resort.
Thanks to the flexibility and good organization of Mr.Sandip we were also able to play a nice round of Golf at the Gokarna Forest Resort Golf course.
Unfortunately our time in this amazing country was limited, but we are sure to return in the next possibility.

We used Mountain Delight Treks to trek Everest Base Camp
Furthermore, the company’s owner, Ram, is overseeing everything and following all treks on a daily basis. It is clear that Ram and Mountain Delight Treks are doing their outmost to give their clients the best possible experience.
It is also important to mention our guide Tilak. He really did his outmost to make the trek as great an experience as possible. He was up early, worked late and was constantly explaining what we saw and passed on our way. It was also his initiative to change the route back due to a heavy snowfall. We could not continue along the planed route. Instead he arranged visits to several small villages “off route”. This was in itself a very interesting part of the journey. We met so many kind local people and got some very unique experience.

Trekking in Langtang Valley
Would highly recommend Mountain Delights. We had an amazing time trekking in the Langtang Valley. Our guide, Dipak Nepal, did a fantastic job and made everything run smoothly throughout the trek. We didn’t have to worry about anything. Our two porters were also incredible. We would love to go trekking with Mountain Delights again in the future!

Poon Hill and ABC trek
Right from the start, Ram was super helpful in the office, giving us clear info and a lot of time to help figure out what trek suited us best. Our guide, Geli Sherpa, was a great guy, very professional but also shared so much about his culture and even joined in on our card games in the evening. Our porter, Peam Sherpa, did an amazing job and we were so glad to have him with us.
The best part was Geli’s expertise. He noticed the weather was shifting and suggested we reach base camp a day early. That easy change gave us "crazy good" weather and an amazing sunrise and sunset. Even when our flight to Pokhara was 3 hours late due to weather, they handled everything so smoothly that we never felt stressed.
The whole trip felt very personal and safe. I’m already looking forward to my next adventure with them!
