Trip Overview

Our medical trek is the social product that has two ways advantages as it promotes a new tourism destination and provide the medical service to the needy people who does not have the proper and easy access to the medical service. Through this trek we aim to provide the sustainable economic development in the communities we visit and serve the people of the community by providing urgently needed medical assistance.

Million trekkers and visitors land in Nepal each year to enjoy their holiday/tour but we bring together  the trekking trip in rural Nepal with medical assistance to the villagers which will be free of cost. As remote area of Nepal lacks Health posts and Hospital we will carry out the medical service to the local in the tented medical camp in various villages. the required medicine and medical equipment will be taken to the camp with the help of porters. During the camp we will providw the basic treatment and medication in the camp only but if there is serious issue the case will be noted down and the treatment will be provide in major hospital in Kathmandu. The medical trek is part of our CSR and we are proud of it.

We would not limit you only to medical practitioners, rather you can bring your friends/family members along with to assist you and enjoy the beauty of the Nepal Himalayas as we would include those medical personnel who wants to trek as well as to serve the needy people as social responsibility. In this trek, we will be visiting to the Ganesh Himal Region which is untouched region and less explored consisting of friendly people and their unique culture. In the you will get the stunning vistas of Ganesh Himal region, Mount Manasulu, Langtang Mountain region and Annapurna region. This trek will be tented camp trekking so, every trekking and camping gears required during the trek will carried with us with the help of porter and the trek will be of great experience.

Itenerary

Arrival in Kathmandu. Meet with our friendly representative at the arrival terminal of only International airport. And, then you will be transferred to your hotel. You check in at your Hotel and then after short rest, you can go to explore the market area of Thamel – where you can eat your supper, change money, buy some stuff from the supermarket, or buy trekking gear – if you need to do. Later we take you to our office for the trip briefing. Overnight at your hotel. Delay of any kind will postpone the events for the next day according to feasibility.

Today we will make the preparation of the trek. We will check all the equipment’s, materials, and basic medicine required for  the program. After preparing all the required equipments, we will carry out trip breifing meeting with all the trip member and doctors who will be going for the medical camp. After the meeting, we will return to the hotel and overnight at the Hotel.

After having breakfast, we will start our program by taking a drive pleasant drive to Bhalche. The first part of drive is through the well black topped road with lots of turnings and corners until you reach to Trisuli. As we reach there you will cross Trisuli River and through Trisuli bazaar we will continue our drive to Bhalche which is bumpy road which provides ample opportunities to have the great views of the surrounding along with some local villages. Bhalche includes culture of Tamang community which is a beautiful village where you can see small school and government health post. We will set up our camp and preparing for next day medical camp. We do camp for the overnight and Overnight Camp.

Today we will do full day medical camp, people will come from surround villages. In the medical camp, we will be carrying out the basic treatment of the locals with the medical equipment we brought and we will be providing the basic medication. Overnight in Camp

After having breakfast, we will start walking towards Thulo chour through jungles of Pine and Rhododendron and crossing some small streams. Thulo chour is a beautiful ground in the middle of the jungle. Here, we can see the settlement of people living in temporary huts; Chattel Shed and engaging in looking after cattle and collecting bamboo to make baskets. Thulo chour will be our lunch stopover. After taking lunch, we will continue walking and cross small springs then start ascending. On the way, we might see some Himalayan monkeys and the great view of Langtang Mountains. Overnight in Gonga.

In the early morning, we can see the pristine views of Langtang ranges and some of the mountains of Tibet. After breakfast, we hike through deep rhododendron and pine forest, with a good chance to see the animals that include monkeys, mountain goat, Leaped, it is short walk up make difficult because of altitude and the steep up. Either you take early lunch on the way or take late lunch at Rupchet. Late afternoon is free and easy, can enjoy the great Himalayan charm of Tibet range & Gosaikunda range. Rupchet is Basecamp of Sing-la top and it is the place with highest altitude camp in this trek. Overnight Camp.

Today, we must start our journey early in the early morning to see the sunrise from the top of sing-la. It will take almost two hours to reach there as we have to engage in steep ascend to the hill. Here, we can see the tranquil glance of the Ganesh Himal ranges, Manaslu, Annapurna, Langtang & Tibet ranges. After enjoying the scenery along with the first rays of the sun, we will descend and proceed through the Pine & Rhododendron forest. Today is hardest day of throughout this trek and today’s altitude is the highest in the entire trek. Overnight Camp.
After taking breakfast in the camp, we must walk through the jungles at some places and through field of corn, maize, wheat, barley etc. The view of Ganesh himal ranges can be seen from most of the places of trekking route. Enjoying the views, we will descend to a remote village of Tamang/ Ghale. We will reach this village in the lunch time. We will have our lunch and start our half day medical camp. Overnight at Shertung village.
Today we will continue our full day medical in the Shertung village and local exploration in the village. Overnight Shertung village.

Today, the starting part of the trek is easy. We will descend to reach Borang village of Tamang community. If you like, then you can have some interaction with the local people and observe their lifestyle. After spending an hour in the village, we will continue walking to Jharlang Phedi. On the way, we will pass through the agricultural fields at some places, and we also have to cross rivers. We can check propel in the evening and morning Overnight at Jharlang.

After breakfast, we will hire the local vehicle for our drive to Jyamrung. We will be driving through the rough road exploring the small settlements, landscape, forest, and other different aspect on the way. Overnight at the Camp.

Today you will be exploring the beautiful Jyamrung Village along with our social project. we get familiar with the surroundings & the families of the village. We also spend our time visiting school and other our project, and we will work with the local people and get involved in their daily activities. If you wish, we can also go fishing or swimming whichever you prefer. Today, we will introduce you with all entire projects on which we are involved in. Overnight in camp at Jyamrung.

In this village we have a small hospital managed by us. So, we will carry out our medical camp at the hospital. We will treat the local patient form around the village who will come to check up with you, locals do not speak English so our guide will help to translate. After the medical camp, we will have a short progam of sharing the experience we had during the trek. Overnight at the Camp.

After breakfast, we will be driving back to Kathmandu as we will be picked up by our vehicle from Jyamrung. Upon reaching Kathmandu, we will check in to our Hotel and have the proper rest required after the long trip. Overnight at the hotel.

You will have half day free today after the long trip. you will have resting and relaxing time until your lunch time. After lunch, you will commence your day tour around Kathmandu. Today, you will get several opportunities to capture the artistic and the real life of Kathmandu along with its centuries old monuments reflecting the real history of the country by your open eyes as well as from your lens. You will also walk through the oldest supermarket of Kathmandu; Ason, Indrachwok, Kilagal and the hidden Stupa Shreegal. After exploring these hidden charms of Kathmandu, you will continue walking to Kathmandu Durbar Square. It is famous for its unique historical, cultural and religious traditions. The most unique experience in the square is the visit to the temple of living goddess “Kumari”. Durbar square walking tour will be a perfect mixture of culture, history, art, architecture and traditional values prevalent in Kathmandu valley. After finishing sightseeing, you will return back to your hotel by walking or if you want to experience a rickshaw ride, you can hire a 3 bicycle wheeled means of transportation famous in Thamel and Kathmandu durbar square area. Overnight at the hotel.

You start your day with breakfast and proceed for the tour. We will show your two different religious/cultural sights – Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa.

Pashupatinath Temple: Known to be a space devoted to lord Shiva, a Hindu deity, Pashupatinath temple is one of the most famous destinations for Hindu pilgrims. Bagmati river – revered to be a holy river – where Hindu dead body are cremated is another attraction of the tour. It is a UNESCO world cultural heritage site and is famous for the celebration of  Shivaratri”, which falls in between the stretch of February-March.

Boudhanath stupa: The stupa is one of the largest monuments of its form in Nepal. It is located in the eastern Kathmandu and stands with four pair of eyes keeping track of four directions of the city. The holy and serene environment will definitely leave you relaxed and calm. It is believed to be inspired by Mahayana philosophy.

The completion of short tour will leave you with plenty time to prepare for some shopping and preparation for your next day departure. Overnight at the hotel.

As per your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the international airport of Kathmandu 3 hours prior to the flight time and your tour ends here.

Equipment Checklist

This list outlines the required things to bring during the trekking tours. There are various selections and brands that you can choose as per your interest. All required trekking equipments can be bought or even hired easily at a reasonable price in Kathmandu.

General

  1. Down sleeping bag (you can borrow with us if required).
  2. Duffel or Rucksack bag (you can borrow with us if required).
  3. Daypack
  4. Down Jacket (you can borrow with us if required).
  5. Fleece liner (you can borrow with us if required).
  6. Walking poles (Walking poles are optional but recommended, and you can borrow with us if required).
  7. Water bottle with purification tablets.
  8. Hand wash liquids.
  9. Lip guard.
  10. Sun-block cream.
  11. Toiletry kit. Be sure to include toilet paper stored in a plastic bag, hand wipes, and liquid hand sanitizer, towel, soap, etc.

  4. Ear-muffs and neck warmer is another piece of gear for extra warmth (optional)

  1. Long and short hiking pants.

  3. Rain and windproof trousers and warm trekking trousers.

Feet

  1. Thin and thick socks.
  2. Trekking boots, light shoes, and sandal.
  3. Trekking Gaiters.        

Medicines and First Aid Kits

(Our guide will carry first aid kit bag during the trek.  We still recommend you to bring your personal first aid kit as you feel it necessary).

  1. Headache and fever medicine.
  2. Ibuprofen for general aches and pains.
  3. Burnt cream.
  4. Immodium or Pepto Bismol capsules for upset stomach and diarrhea.
  5. Diamox (commonly prescribed as Acetazolamide). Please discuss with us before starting to take this medicine.
  6. Antibiotics.
  7. Blister treatments such as moleskin, hand plants and-aids, some waterproof tape, anti-infection ointments, etc.

Miscellaneous

  1. Passport and extra passport photos (2 copies).
  2. Durable wallet/pouch for travel documents, money and passport.
  3. Pocket knife.
  4. Bandanas.
  5. Favorite snack foods and energy bars
  6. Paperback books, cards, mp3 player. Avoid players with moving hardware as it may not function. Remember, keep these items lightweights
  7. Binoculars.
  8. Camera.

All garments should be kept dry using waterproof stuff sacks or large puncture resistant plastic bags.
