Ganesh Himal – Ruby Valley
Ganesh Himal lies north-west of Kathmandu, between the Langtang and Manaslu regions, and takes its name from the Ganesh Himal massif. Our treks start with a seven to nine hour drive from Kathmandu to Bhalche in Dhading district and follow the quiet trails of the Ruby Valley through Tamang and Gurung villages such as Gonga, Shertung and Jharlang.
The Ganesh Himal Trek crosses Singla Pass at 4,200 m and takes 13 days including Kathmandu. Our medical treks follow the same route with village health camps, linked to the community projects we support in the area. Paldor Peak (5,903 m) and the Ganesh Himal I expedition are reached from the same valleys. Lodges are few, so nights are spent in tents and village homestays.
The best seasons are spring (March to May) and autumn (October to November). Ask us which permits apply to your exact route.
