Ganesh Himal -V Expedition

Trip Overview

Ganesh Himal expedition is a well-known expedition of Ganesh Himal region. Mt. Ganesh Himal (7446 m) is one of the delightful mountains in Nepal that lies in the northwest of Kathmandu valley and east of Langtang Himal. During the clear sunny days, the mountain can be visible from Kathmandu valley. Ganesh Himal I (7429 m), also known as "Yangra Khangri" is the highest peak of Ganesh Himal. H.W. Tilman's team attempted the summit for the first time in 1950 however, the first successful ascent took place in 1955 by Franco-Swiss Expedition through the Southeast Ridge. Several failed efforts occurred on this peak throughout the 1950s, but it was finally summited in 1981 via the Northeast and North Face.

During the trip, you will be introduced to a broad spectrum of life in different Nepalese communities and a variety of beautiful scenery as you will trek through traditional Nepalese villages, woods and jungles, and fields of Rhododendron, bamboo, pine, and other trees. From the Ganesh Himal base camp, splendid views of Ganesh Himal I (7429 m), Ganesh Himal II (7150 m) and Mt. Manaslu (8163 m) can be seen. The optimal seasons for this trek are late fall and early spring. Late March through April offers the great opportunity to observe the woodlands burst into color as six to seven Rhododendron species bloom around the entire destination before reaching Mount Ganesh Himal's Base Camp. The optimum time to climb Ganesh Himal is in the Autumn and Spring, however we at Mountain Delights organize trips all year round according to mountaineers' vacation schedules.
