Trip Overview

Ama Yangri Trek is a recently opened trekking trail north of Kathmandu Valley. This trekking destination is located in the Helambu region of Sindhupalchowk district. Ama Yangri is one of the highest peaks that is near Kathmandu Valley. You can witness the stunning views of Langtang Range, Annapurna, Manaslu, and even Mt.Everest from here. And because of this, the Ama Yangri Trek can be considered similar to the Poon Hill Trek of the Annapurna region. Nestled in the heart of the great Himalayas, the Ama Yangri Trek is a hidden gem for adventure seekers and nature lovers. This trek offers an awe-inspiring journey through the remote and untouched landscapes of Nepal, providing an unforgettable experience for those seeking a blend of natural beauty and cultural richness. It is situated at an altitude of 3800 m, and the trek passes through some beautiful rhododendron, pine, and oak forests. This trek can be immensely enjoyed in the Nepalese month of Chaitra, which is more or less March and May. But because it is a short and beginner-level trek, it can be done throughout the year.
