We take pride in sustainable tourism

Mountain Delights Treks & Expedition is a government-licensed Nepal trekking company based in Thamel, Kathmandu. Ram Sapkota founded it in 2004 after years on the trails himself, and he still plans trips with a team of certified local guides – many of them from the valleys they lead you through.

We run treks to Everest Base Camp, the Annapurna Sanctuary and Circuit, Langtang, Manaslu and Mustang, climbs such as Island Peak and Mera Peak, and tours in Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan. Every itinerary is built around your dates, pace and group, whether you travel alone, as a family or with a school.

Our porters carry no more than 25–30 kg, are insured and are never sent down alone when sick; female guides are available on request; and part of what we earn funds the Tukee Nepal Society's schooling, health and farming projects in rural Dhading.

My partner and I booked a 4-day Annapurna trek through Mountain Delight's Thamel office, and the whole experience was excellent. The booking process was personal and flexible. We got a detailed day-by-day itinerary upfront, there was no issue when our friends cancelled last minute, and the team arranged a same-day reschedule when I got sick on our first day in Pokhara.<br>The trek itself (Tikkedunga → Ulleri → Ghorepani → Poon Hill) was stunning, and our guide Geli Sherpa went above and beyond throughout. When we decided to change our return route on day 4, he reorganized the plan and all the bookings on the spot without missing a beat. Our porter Nabaraj Dhaunya was steady and reliable the whole way too.<br>Highly recommend Mountain Delight for trekking in the Annapurna region, and ask for Geli if you can.

We had an absolutely amazing experience doing the Three Passes Trek in Nepal. I completed the Three Passes Trek with the company and had the best experience of my life! Everyone was extremely professional. Ram was very attentive and welcoming, he made sure we had everything we needed before starting our trek. Our guide, Shiva, was very experienced, safe, and respectful. I plan to come back and climb one of the peaks with Mountain Delights because I liked this first experience with them so much. 10/10 all around!

Giving back · since 2005

It started with one village school.

Ram Sapkota grew up in Jyamrung, in the hills of Dhading. While he was still a guide, he used his own savings to keep children from his area in school. In 2005, a year after starting Mountain Delights, he founded the Tukee Nepal Society.

Swedish travellers he guided visited the village, saw children studying outdoors next to a crumbling school, and set up a support organisation in Sweden. Part of what Mountain Delights earns still goes to the society, and our medical and community treks take travellers there to see it.
